ni max import error

Hi all

 

I'm having trouble importing my NI MAX setting , and without this my VI's doesn't work.

Here the error message (i've already tryed to re-install the niDaq drivers and NI max and i've updated all)

scroll bar on clusters example - question

Hello, 

 

I know there are allot of toppics about this subject but I found an example that would do the trick for me. 

But it won't work. I can scroll but nothing happens...

I'll post the original example i found and an example to show you how i'm using it. 

 

My cluster contains a boolean 2D array and a nummeric 1D array.  

It is not the actual data but the setup is the same.

Find Focus from TypeDefs?

Hi,

 

in my application I have a function that find the control which has currently the focus (to get some properties of this control afterwards). A simplified copy of this function I attached below.

 

My question: Why doesn't the method works when control is a typedef?

Change array index font size using VI scripting

Hello All,

                     I have a array control in my front panel, I'm wondering is there any way to change that "array index" font size using VI scripting?

Example:

1. I have this array

2. Manually I have changed the font size of the array in "Selection Font" panel as below

3. Through VI scripting I'm able to control control font size, label font size.,.. But not the index font size. So it looks odd.

4. I'm expecting to be modify this array as same as picture 1 through VI scripting.

 

Note: It may not have any practical application, but some time it will be helpful for the programmers to make a quick drop. If anybody have any idea, please share.

MCP2210 DLL and LabVIEW 2014

Hello,

Can I have some help for using the dll of the MCP2210 breakout board within a vi in order to output hexadecimal chain through the SPI serial bus and some digital signal to an evaluation kit board ?

I have found some links here, but they are for older version of LabVIEW and DLL.

Asynchronous Dynamic Dispatch Subpanel

Hi,

 

I have a bit of an issue with using class member VIs in a subpanel.  Take a look at the project I've attached to the VI for an example of what I'm trying to do (in LV 2011).

 

Basically I want to decide based on a user's selection which viewer I will run and launch in a subpanel.  The user can change this during program operation.  I've decided to make the different viewers all members of a class so that I can add new viewers and be sure that all will be compatible.

 

Here's the issue.  If I want to use the run asynchronous VI function, I cannot do this with dynamic dispatch terminals (limitation in LabVIEW).  So I made a launcher that has static dispatch terminals.  I call this launcher using the run asynch function, and then within the launcher I run the specific instances via dynamic dispatch.  This works, and I can verify that the VIs are running by having the VIs open their front panels when they run.  But, I cannot seem to get a reference to this VI that is launched via the launcher to put into the subpanel on my main VI.

 

I have a workaround, which you can see in the other method used to launch VIs in the example.  This selects the class member directly by using the name.  Data is passed to the VI using the set control value method.

 

As I said, I have a workaround to the problem.  But, I'm wondering if there is a better way to do this.  So, if anyone knows how I can launch a VI asynchronously and place its front panel into a subpanel I would love to hear about it.  Thanks LabVIEW gurus.

some of the c function are not directly wrapped in to labview how can wrapping to labview

                              i have problem that some  c call i.e. MTL.dll can wrapped in to labview directly, some of the c function MTL.dll  are not directly wrapped in to labview .How can wrapping to labview.Please suggest me how to over come.Those global data sharing calls will be woking in labwindow cvi.

Web Service on RT target

Hi

I am working on some web services on my CVS RT Target.

Has anyone experience in converting an imaq image to binary data according to the selected HTTP response mime type ?

 

The example wrapped in green sequence, loads a png file from disk and streams the raw data to the client. And it works fine.

 

In the example wrapped in red sequence I need to convert the imaq image to similar data according to the selected mine type (what ever that may be).

I can´t seem to figure this out.

 

Any good ideas or receipes or vi snippest etc....

Hello everybody,

 

I am doing a labview fpga programme. I just wnated to generate some variable  delay. I can use delay element in High throughput math and also structures function which can be a fixed delay but i need variable delay. Hence i used memorys to that one. For address i generated a counter and while writing direct adress giving and while reading address-delay given so as to if its writing at 100 smaple then reading starts 0 if my delay 100 samples. Now the problem is while loop is repeating then again and again i am getting delay but i dont want it. Starting itself delay shud come for next loops delay shud nt come. I wrote simple logic (u can see in image)  to that i succeded. The logic is when counter <Delay then reading address must be max memory elemets-delay which is 0 because no element written at that time. But after running memorys written and but not cleared untill we write again so if i run next time the previous data is coming which shud not i want. So how to clear memorys after completetion of iteration?? How can i modify the code to generate delay after running for first iteration only... kindly go through the logic i wrote in image...

XY graph question

I have an XY graph that I'm using to display data read from a TDMS file. I'm using a property node to set the XScale.Maximum and XScale.Minimum to allow the user to see only a portion of the graph at once. This way they see the latest data more easily and then they can scroll to the left see older data. My challenge is the Y scale. It auto scales to the the highest and lowest value recorded throughout the entire graph and not just what is being shown in the display.

How can I get the graph to auto scale the Y axis for only the data the user is currently viewing at the moment?

Using both channels of my 6623A

Hey there, I am looking for some help reguarding a HP 6623A DC power supply, using Labview 9.. I am working on a project where I need to control all 3 channels of the power supply and switch back and fourth to alter their outputs. I have tried altering their example code but it will only set 1 channel and clear the other. I can't seem to get both running simultaneously. Thanks for your help

Race condition while removing and inerting a VI into a subpanel

Once more I need some help with a tricky situation...

 

I'm trying to move a FP of a VI from one subpanel to another.

 

That's how far I am:

Consider two VIs running independently as main instance, both with a subpanel on the FP. The first VI - the source - has inserted a VI (SP-VI in the following text) in its subpanel, the second - the target - not. Now the target sends a stop command via user event to the source. The source removes the SP-VI from its subpanel, then destroys the user event reference and stops. In parallel the target polls the user event reference and delays until the reference becomes invalid. After that happened, it trys to insert the SP-VI.

 

The insert fails.

If I add an additional wait between the invalid reference check and the insert VI it works.

 

Seems the subpanel needs some time to remove the inserted VI and because of that I'm running into a race condition.

 

What are Your reccommendations to determine if a VI's frontpanel is available to insert into a SubPanel?

Should I simply retry on an error? I'm not sure if its a good practice to try until the insetion succeeds.

Connect Hx711 in a NI USB-6009 or Arduino UNO in the Labview

Good day!

I have a a load cell, a hx711 ADC (photo attached), a NI USB-6009 and an Arduino UNO. So I intend to connect the load cell with the Hx711 in LabView using the NI USB-6009 Digital Input  or using Arduino UNO board.

I´ve already connect the load cell with Hx711 with the Arduino Software and works great. But I want to make it work with labview.

I need help.

Foreign characters when right clicking on vi running in run time engine

I have two PC's windows XP SP3 that are running LV2010 labview exe files.

The same file runs on other pc's with same OS and no problems. I have  reinstalled

the RTE and even the most recent RTE. No change. Any Ideas? Attached picture example

of foreign text. Only happens with right click text.

[HELP] Agilent 53220A Counter Timer Will Not Initialise Using NI VI's!

I am running National Instruments 2012 Development Suite.

 

I have hooked up an Agilent 53220A to a PXI chassis via USB and MAX can see it.

 

If I use the D:\Program Files (x86)\National Instruments\LabVIEW 2012\instr.lib\Agilent 532XX Series\Public\Initialize.vi library to initialise it, it takes ages before finally timing out.  I opened all the VI and issued the commands manually using the Measurement and Automation Explorer as follows:

 

*IDN?\n = Returned the details of the Counter Timer.

*RST\n = Returned no errors.

*ESE 60;\n = Returned no errors.

*SRE 48;\n = Returned no errors.

*CLS;\n = Returned no errors.

: SYST:ERR?\n = The subsequent read then times out!   (delete space between ":" and "S")...

 

If I repeat the above but skip the "*SRE 48;" command it then works.

 

Any ideas why my Agilent 53220A Counter Timer does not like the "*SRE 48;" command?

Multi-language alphanumeric control

Hello everybody,

 

I have to implement a multi-language application. I have already done it with french-english.

 

But my problem is that now, I have to add the chinese language.

 

When the application is launched, the user choses the language in a list. Then the right text file (containing the selected language) is used to display the correct language (for the indicators or the captions).

 

First of all, I am wondering if the text file should be in UTF-8 in order to display chinese in LabVIEW (i have already done it with greek, and back then I had a text file in UTF-8, and I was converting the text in LabVIEW from multi-character text to unicode before displaying it).

 

I am also wondering if it is possible to have alphanumeric control in chinese, french or english (french or english are pretty muche the same, the problem is only for chinese) depending on the choice made by the user when he launched the application. If the language is chinese, then when the user will type some text in the control, chinese symbols will be displayed.
