"Search Engine" using Real Delimited Spreadsheet.vi
Hi everyone i have a text file which contains the date,time,voltage,current,power,imorted energy ratings of my Modbus Power meters. I used the write to delimited spreadsheet to write all the readings i received from the meters. The energy ratings of the meter is cumulative and i would like to be able to have a "search engine" that allows the users to view their energy consumed between any period of time. They would have to enter the start time and the end time that they want to view. For example if the user wants to view the energy consumed from 9 to 10 am the user has to enter 9am at the "start time" & 10am at the "end time". To get the amount of energy consumed i would take the imported energy value at 10am(from the text file) and subtract it with the imported energy value at 9am(also from the text file). Any help would be appreciated!

Playing the video in Reverse
Hi Everyone,
I am trying to play the video in reverse by decrementing the frame number in IMAQ Read Frame function. Its working but the result is very choppy as every frame takes significant time to load, but when I just increment the frame number and play the video forward, its executing without any problem. I have attached the VI and info regarding the video, could you guys please let me know why I am having problem when I am trying to display the video in the reverse order.

Using existing typedef
Newbie question: Where can I find how to use a predefined typedef. I have sample code that uses NI_LinSys_Data Typedefs.lvlib CD Time Info.ctl, so this exists somewhere. I can see the lvlib file in the program directory. I can create a cluster with the same info {t0,dt,tf}, and I can create a new Typedef from that cluster. But how do I use the predefined type? What tutorial covers this?

Dynamical variable binding
Hi all,
I'm struggling several days with a problem: how can I make the binding between a local variable and a control dynamic?
What does I mean:
-I have a 2D matrix of strings. The first column are names of variables in my vi. The second column are values that these variables should have (can be strings, can be numerical values, can be booleans). The order of the variable names in the first column is variable, not all variables in my vi are present and at the next execution the list can be changed (other variables in column 1 and/or other order).
-is there an elegant way to update the variables mentioned in column 1 with the values present in column 2?
I should like to avoid to add a search engine that checks every single variable in my vi's presence in that list, linking the result of that search with a local variable to update it. That should make my code much less generic.
An example of the 2D matrix could be:
Var1 2.03
Var3 5
Var6 yes
Var2 23

Filter Deign
Hello Everyone,
I am generating the Random white Noise and restricting the noise to 5KHZ and after the 5KHZ noise should decay 6db per Octave but I have used many of the filter option but I am unable get the Result. The below attached vi shows the details Noise is generating please help me with this

write frame memory leak
Every time I save an avi file, it keeps getting into memory and the computer stops later.
I would appreciate it if you could tell me why this is happening and how to fix it.

Basic DC Motor Questions for a simple project
Hello r/robotics! I have a small project kicking around that I need some help with. While I am not new to the field of hobby electronics, I have never used DC motors before and need some help. Either by pointing me to some educational videos or otherwise, I'll take what I can get! (If this isn't the place to ask, please direct me to a place I can ask! I asked a question like this in DIYElectronics but the responses left me more confused.) SO I have a setup like so. I want it so that when I press a button, both motors go to a set position. I want several button inputs, each coordinating to a different position on the DC motors. The weights would never need to spin constantly, just go to a position and stay there until a button press tells it to go somewhere else. Not picky on speed, but ideally want 14RPM under load but can go down to 3 RPM under load. I know enough that I will most likely need a mircocontroller of some sort (planning on using an Arduino) but how would I relay the motors position back to the microcontroler? I've read about something called an encoder, is that what I would need? Can any encoder work with any DC motor? I had my eye on this DC motor would that do what I need it to? DIYElectronics recommended servo or stepper motors, but in order to get the torque I need, these become a pretty pricey option, but I am open to anything that would get the job done! Advice? Tips? Knowledge? Thanks in advance for your time!

Send file from client to server and copy these files in a folder

First of all thanks a lot for reading this post and being able to help.
I would like to do next.
I have PC server and PC client.
I have some .txt files in PC client. I would like to send these files to PC server over the same network.
Once I have the files in PC Server, I would like to put these files in a folder but if some files exists dont overwrite them (just copy the new files).
How can I do that?

.net objects in code, DLL and portability
Hi
Does any one know if there would be any portability issues when converting LabVIEW code containing .NET objects into DLL? The DLLs would be distributed most likely across Windows 7 and 10 desktops. For example, do the targets need to have specific run time engine of .NET? I am not familiar with .NET but I would imagine that if I would like use .NET methods I would need to make sure that targets have the minimum version which is stated in MSDN?

Problem with packed library.

i am trying to add 3D surface graph control in one of the vi and making llb fo that vi
while loading that vi from labview llb it loads ok in development system.
but not in EXE.
For solution i tried to add packed library for that vi but in packed library it dosent load that vi, showing vi broken error even in development system.

Using LabVIEW application builder on Win 10 (LabVIEW 2017) for use on XP machine
Hi,
I have built a (.exe) file using application builder which works as intended on my windows 10 machine (32 bit) but when i run the same file on my xp machine it comes up with the error "(file location).exe is not a valid win32 application". As i have built this on a 32bit machine and the files for labVIEW are in the 32bit directory i assume that it is a 32bit version of labVIEW (as you cannot build 32bit applications on the 64bit version).
I then learnt that labVIEW 2017 is not compatible with windows XP machines so could this be the problem?
Also a previous version of the program works with XP but i dont know how that was built (e.g it could have been built on labVIEW 2015 which is why it works)
And is there an easy way of getting the 2015 version back so i can build it using that?

Error - 10401
Hi,
I am using PCI-6110 with BNC 2110 connecting to dynamic strainmeter. I have a Labview 2012 for this which uses NI DAQmx 9.6. When I run it I get the following error message,
Error -10401 occurred at AI Group Config -
|NI-DAQ LV: The specified device is not a National Instruments product, the driver does not support the device.......
I have checked for this error in NI discussion forum, mentions to reset device or configure using the Measurement & Automation Explorer. But Unfortunately in MAX the device and interfaces are not able to configure or run test panel. I have attached few photos of the software MAX, Please find the attachments.
Kindly help me for solving this error. Thanks in advance for your help!

Problems communicating through second ethernet port in cRIO 9035
Hello to everyone,
I'm trying to communicate with a schneider pm5300 using modbus tcp. To do so, I use the second ethernet port of the cRIO 9035, because the first port I'm using it to communicate with the PC. I obtain the following error 59:
LabVIEW: The network is down, unreachable, or has been reset.
I've tried to ping the pm5300 and the 2nd port of the cRIO and both have communication. I don't know where else to look.

Im getting Error 1055 after trying to fix a memory leak
Hi all,
I was trying to fix the obvious memory leak from figure one which came from creating objects in the while loop however when I tried the fix in figure two I am now getting error 1055 object reference is invalid... can anyone point out what could fix this? I've also tried using shift registers as shown in figure three but this gave the same error 1055 as figure two. Any help would be massively appreciated.

Continuous filtering
Hello,
I need to filter analog data. My goal is that this filter causes a delay on my channels.
I will set a number of samples as data input for each channels in order to set the delay as i expect it to do.
I am not good in signal processing, anyone does know what kind of filter do i need to use ?

LabVIEW program freezes
Hi everyone,
I am writing a program in LabVIEW for our teststation. It suppose to get the readings from the chip over I2C and control the charger and the discharger. The program is in a very early phase but it already doesnt work properly.
- After I press the START Button the program starts and if I press the START Button again (accidentally or on purpose) it freezes and "disable" all other controls, so I can only stop it by pressing the "Abort Execution".
I am wondering what am I doing wrong, is there anything wrong in my programming technique? I dont know what am I missing out..

Handling .NET .dll-files, that are called from several packed libraries
Hello community,
I am currently working on a project containing several packed libraries. Right now we are in a state of rearranging project files and dependencies and now want to create the right structure to prevent dependency problems in the future.
My problem is, that when packing libraries, that in themself are calling .net assemblies, I can not prevent LabVIEW from copying those .net assemblies and thereby changing the dependency to the build output path.
When I now pack a second library, that uses the same .net assembly, and include it into a project I get dependency warnings, because the .net DLLs are being called from different locations.
Ticking the box "exclude depending DLLs" in the build specifications does not do anything for me, which I don't understand.
Did anybody had similar issues or another solution of arranging packed libraries, that use DLLs?

URGENT HELP NEEDED: Write to measurement file controlled by my boolean
Hi guys,
I really need help regarding my labview VI. My VI has been able to read data pretty well, however I am unable to control the writing of my data to a file using a Boolean. Please see the attached. I want to be able to send this data to a text file, to activate the data capture with a Boolean and then to stop the data capture with the same Boolean.
