Hi,
we have a desktop PC-based RT system that we built a few years ago. When we built the system we had hardware problems- the target's network adapter we used, though being in the compatibility list (82574L chipset), did not work when RAM was more than 2GB. This was solved with the kind help of NI support (Danny Diaz), who sent me a patch driver that solved the issue. The system worked well since then.
unfortunately we had to re-install the system recently due to HD expiry. we encountered the same problem (apparently the bug was not fixed in subsequent RT module versions), but this time the patch didn't worked. we found another compatible network adapter (broadcom BCM5751 chpiset) and now we have communication, but we have many TCP-IP failures, the CPUs are at 95% use and the system is unstable.
we decided to upgrade the system- newer processor (we're currently using old Core2 Duo), and a new network adapter. the compatiblity list you have on the web seems very outdated- ivy bridge, for instance, is hard to come by today. also, our vendors do not offer systems with as little as 4GB RAM. can you please assist us with finding an available machine that is known to be compatible?
thanks,
avner
