Hi,

i'm currentrly working with an Analog Camera who is connected to a NI PCI 1405 Framegrabber on Intel Pentium 4 CPU, Windows 2000 with LabView 8.5, NI-Runtime 9.0,  NI-Vision Run-Time 9.0, NI-DAQmx 8.6, NI-IMAQ 3.8, NI-Serial 3.3,  NI-Motion 7.6. But i want to upgrade my system to a Digital Camera with Firewire. The thing is that i only had like 40h of lessons in Labview so i know the basics but thats all.  i didnt do the programm myself but i want to do the modifications.

Labview takes a picture and the programm i'm working with does image processing. So i have few questions:

-If i switch to Firewire with an other camera with an other resolution, do i have to change the programm so the picture taken has the same resolution as before?

-do i only need to change the part of the Vi where it takes the picture and send it to the computer? (Acquisition)

-Do i need other drivers? if yes are they free?

- Is it hard to do for a Noob like me?

- If i wanna change my computer (its really old ...) to a computer on windows 7, do i have to make a lots of changes in the programm?

Thank you for your help!

Best Regards
