mb ethernet read holding registers returns one register than requested

I am using the NI Modbus lib.  When I perform a holding register read, I have to put quantity = 2 to read one register = 16bits.  or quantity = 3 to read two registers....

I used a monitor software and verify the equipment under test is returning the requested quantity, but the the Labview MB Ethernet Master Query  vi is getting one word less.

Is there any setting I missed
